Directorate of Industrial Training assessment of 1400 candidates completed successfully
The Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) successfully conducted the assessment of 1400 candidates on wednesday and thursday August 28th and 29th respectively. The candidates will be awarded with vocational qualifications.
The exercise began with a briefing of candidates at the four skilling centers of Kidera, Kitayunjwa, Gwase and Kisozi by the skilling Coordinator , Ms. Margret Kisakye on Mondayn 14th August and concluded by Friday 23rd August.
The exercise is aimed at confirming whether the individuals can perform to the standards and qualify for the criteria expected in the workplace.
According to the Principal of DLLN skilling Centres, IP Mwiru Karoli, “the assessment was
aligned with the defined occupational competences and standards prescribed in the Assessment and Training Package (ATP).”
Mwiru explained that the competence based assessment is being made in terms of successful or unsuccessful. He explained that practical performance assessment were conducted on 28th and 29th august for Tailors and Hairdressers while the Craft artisans will sit for their examinations in the near by future.
He explained that the exercise was fully supported by a team of staff members who ensured
security of assessment materials in conjunction with the assessors who oversaw the assessment activities in the assigned jurisdiction on top of ensuring compliance and making reports
of the exercise.
He further said the candidates carefully followed the assessment guidelines by being orderly and tidy during assessment to avoid being penalized for breach of the guidelines.
