DLLN Gives food relief to Covid19 affected families

DLLN Uganda is responding to the needs of people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in Busoga Sub region.  We couldn’t remain relaxed and comfortable as we witnessed many people suffering due to hunger. With its limited resources that we have, we are assisting the poor during this critical moment by visiting and giving some food to the most vulnerable families. This was done in Namwendwa sub county, Kitayundwa sub county and Gwase all in kamuli district and kisozi, kagulu and Bugaya, kidera sub counties in Buyende district, these activities are still on going.

Prince Kitimbo .J. Daniel, the general Secretary of DLLN said that   “As of now, the situation has gone beyond our capacity. For instance, on February 12, we identified 150 of the most vulnerable families in Buyende, Kagulu, Namwendwa and Kitayunjwa to be assisted. These families couldn’t afford even a single meal due to the prevailing dry season and scarcity of food. We organized some food to be delivered and offered beans, Posho, Rice and ground nuts paste  since the number kept increasing drastically. We also cut about 130 bunches of bananas from our garden with some vegetables and shared with them. We thank and appeal to all generous people who can participate and join us to help the needy in this post Covid19 Period.”
