DLLN Uganda ends 2022 in style

To connect more with employees, DLLN Uganda organised a special end of the year party for its workers at Kyemba Sande Gardens hotel Pool side on 02nd December 2022. The colourful party held amidst fun and fanfare, presented an opportunity for employees from different background and localities to get aquainted to each other. These were from Kamuli, Kisozi, Kidera, Kagulu and Buyende

The Organization explained that the initiative was part of its strategies to make its work environment more conducive and flexible, such that would boost employers- workers relationship, in the overall interest of the Organization and the Benefactors.

Speaking at the reception, DLLN Uganda Executive Director, Prince Kitimbo Daniel, reiterated that the initiative was specifically created for staff  to get to know each other in a relaxed manner, away from the formal atmosphere at work. He said: “This is also a way of   appreciating our staff who have sacrificed a lot to to deliver quality services to the people in need mostly in the hard to reach areas; more importantly, to encourage friendly relationship and strengthen bond among workers present”.

Stressing the organization’s commitment to sustain the initiative, he added: “Developing Lives, Livelhood & Nutrition –Uganda (DLLN – Uganda) was founded in 1993 as Dolenffermio – Uganda with a Mission “’End Poverty, Hunger, Improve Health & Education, making Communities more sustainable as they combated Climate Change.’’, I  started with six colleagues with limited resources and many of them desserted us because we hand no funders and most of the projects we wrote were rejected, currently we have a staff pool of over 40 people and we are still expanding, that shows how far the initiative has gone. We plan to continue with it as long as long as we are still alive, the feedback has been quite impressive and there is no better way to get the best of one’s employees than to make them happy, which is what we doing today”.

Prince Kitimbo expressed his appreciation to the People who have persisted with him and case in point is the Project Auditor Mr. Bob Sebidde, the Accounts manager and one of the co-founders – Mr. Buguma David, the ICT officer Mr. Walya Peter, the administrator and one of the co-founders – Ms. Nakyeyune Hellen, the Projects Coordinator Mr. Mwiru Kalori, among others.

The Projects Coordinator, Mr. Mwiru Kalori expressed his appreciation for the effort put in by the trainers in the different training centers and assured them of more positive results. He however cautioned them of their fear to change localities because of the current trainers interchange program where they will be required to exchange training centers. He emphasized the trainers to work on their personal development Morally, financially and socially.

The Project auditor Mr. Sebidde Bob appreciated the project team for making his work smooth by executing the project activities in line with the project budject and properly delivering quality services to those in need.

Mr. Buguma David the accounts manager, expressed his joy and happiness towards the growth and progress of the Project. He recalled the old days when they had to dig deep in their pockets to finance the project. He however advised the project members to develop their livelihoods since they are doing it in the communities. He advised them to form a cash round savings group to develop each other.

The highpoint of the event was the presentation of gifts to the executive Director and the projects Cordinator by the staff from different centers.

There were a lot of activities like swimming, sauna sessions, geam exercise, eating , drinking, socializing  and Dancing
