Four new Motorcycles Aquired to boost Operations
Kamui, 05 February 2025: – Developing Lives, livelihoods and Nutrition Uganda has received four (4) motorcycles to enhance the surveillance and community engagement in its areas of operation.
The motorcycles will enable the Agriculture extension officers to mentor farmers who are benefiting from the Agriculture projects and the establishment of boreholes in the WASH program.
The motorcycles will be deployed in the different areas of operation in DLL-Uganda ie. WASH and Agriculture (two motorcycles) , skilling (1 Motorcycle) and ofiice administration/ monitoring (1 motorcycle).
Receiving the motorcycles, the Agriculture extension officer Wansadya Joshua Mbodhogo said , “this is yet another milestone in our preparedness activities against Hunger, Poverty and Poor health in Busoga ” he added that surveillance and community engagement are the backbone of an effective response to farmers out cries and the motorcycles ease transport “come in handy to manoeuvre the difficult terrains of Busoga.”
While officiating at the handover ceremony held at the DLLN-Uganda head offices in Bukolobe, Kamuli Municipality on 03rd January 2025, the Executive Director of DLLN-Uganda, Prince Kitimbo Daniel Joshua underscored the importance of supporting rural communities to address climate change challenges and make progress towards attaining national and global development aspirations.
“It is our hope that these motorcycles will assist the movement of DLLN -Uganda staff in providing the much-needed extension and awareness creation services to help farmers adopt climate-smart agricultural practices and build their resilience to climate-related shocks”, he said.

While handing over the motorcycles, the DLLN-Uganda Administrator, Walya Peter lauded the the extension officers for the excellent coordination of a comprehensive preparedness exercise and sustained implementation of a robust package of interventions of DLLN-Uganda in Busoga especially Budiope region.
“As we hand over the motorcycles, we need to acknowledge the enormous needs for the mobility of our extension officers to quickly cover up the communities with better farming practices and improved sanitary actions that reduce their vulnerability to poverty and poor health ” Walya added.
