Progress of Rural goats Projects

DLLN Uganda, through our partners in Uganda, have funded a  poverty eradication project throug goat Rearing , which aims to eradicate poverty amongst vulnerable families in rural areas of Kidera in Buyende District for sustainable development.

In 2022, 30 female goats  and 10 Male Bucks were bought and distributed to 25 families. These will take on the goat rearing project as their main source of income and nutrition boosting through the milk for their families, and will breed the goats to expand the scheme and their income.

One of the beneficiaries, Simon who is a father of eight and said that before he became part of this project, he had no idea how he would be able to support his three daughters and five sons. He expressed his  deepest gratitude to DLLN Uganda  and all of the donors who have helped make this possible. He said he plans to care for her goats and breed them so that by the end of 2022, he will have five goats.

Your support towards our  projects helps people like Simon, who have no other way of making a living, leaving them to rely on short term aid to get by every month. This type of sustainable support means that Simon and his family have an asset, which will bring them income every month for the long term.
