Trainers Trained on use of DIT ATPs, DIT Assesment Concepts and major issues in BTVET

The training staff of DLLN Uganda undrewent an intensive training on the use of Directorate of industrial training Assesment and Training Package, Directorate of industrial training concepts and major issues in Business Vocational Education Training.

The five days training titled “Training of Trainers” on USE OF DIT ATPs, DIT ASSESSMENT CONCEPTS AND MAJOR ISSUES IN BTVET” with an objective to build the capacity of  Trainers to Interpret and use DIT Assessment and Training Packages (ATPs), define the basic concepts of assessment, tests, relate BTVET, DIT and UVQF concepts, discuss terms and terminologies used in Assessment, develop performance Testing Instruments, evaluate practical and knowledge tests and  Administer tests was held at Tigs hotel Kamuli  from 16th – 20th September, 2024. A total of 10 trainers  from the four training centers participated in this training.

This workshop was conducted by shida consults with training specilists from the Directorate of industrial training.

The Shida Consult head of traing, Milly Nabankema said that " The Directorate of Industrial Training in Uganda offers Assessment and Training Packages to enhance skills Development and industrial growth." she further explained that " Acquiring knowledge about these packages is crucial for individuals, Employers and the economy. They also address the labour market shortages, foster innovation and entrepreneurship plus improving economic competitiveness."

DLLN-Uganda  agreed to train their Instructors to have a feel on interpreting and using the Assessment and Training Packages (ATPs) in order to improve on how to deliver content to the learners/Trainees. They were also taken through the DIT assessment Concepts, plus major issues in Business, Technical Vocational Education and Training. (BTVET).

DLLN planned to train thirteen (12) Instructors, however two had challenges and only ten (10)(completed the training from the three occupations i.e. Tailor, Hairdresser and Crafts Artisan. By learning how to interpret the ATPs, they shall deliver content according to the standards of DIT and relating all well with the World of Work.
